OUR STORY

Twin City Transit was founded in 2023 by husband-and-wife team Alton and Hazel Mills. After building their life and raising their family in Winston-Salem, they developed a deep love for the community and the people who make it feel like home.

With Alton’s background as an entrepreneur and Hazel’s years of experience serving the public through the Forsyth County Clerk’s Office, they both understood the importance of professionalism, reliability, and treating people with respect. Their purpose became even clearer while helping care for Alton’s father, Freddie Ray Mills, a retired disabled Army veteran and Vietnam veteran. During that time, they saw firsthand how difficult it could be to find dependable, accessible transportation for loved ones who needed extra care.

That experience became the heart behind Twin City Transit. What started as a personal need grew into a family-oriented transportation company built on courtesy, dignity, safety, and compassion. As a woman- and minority-owned business, Twin City Transit is proud to serve the Triad with care while also creating opportunities within the community we call home.
